All about Australian Women
Last night I was working with a client who has big dreams of starting her own business. I could see her eyes light up as she talked about her vision, what she wants to achieve and why it lights a fire in her belly.
She hadn’t moved forward with this vision for various reasons, mostly being afraid of failing and not being accepted by her peers.
I simply asked, ‘if these issues weren’t holding you back, and it was impossible to fail, what actions would you take to start this business?’.
It’s an easy, hypothetical question AND totally answerable. My client was able to say exactly what she needed to do next and then we set goals for her to take these steps.
What I realised is that if you are given the right set of questions, you can totally coach yourself.
Try it now!
Think of a situation that you would like to see improve; it could be at work, at home, in your relationships – wherever. Then ask yourself the following questions:
Once you have achieved those three action steps, do another three and then another three. Keep taking steps until you are at your ideal situation. You will find yourself building momentum and before you know it, you’ll have reached your goal.
Just remember that everything you need is within you right now. You just need to access it and with the right questions, you can certainly tap into all the resources you require for taking action.
Coaching yourself is really powerful. If you find that you aren’t getting the results as quickly as you would like, an experienced career coach can help to quickly bust through the blocks and assist with major transformational change.
So where can you coach yourself today? What changes do you want to make in your life? In the comments section below, write what action you will be taking to set yourself up for future success.
